Mithimna Beach
Venue: Mithimna BeachThis is a delightful laid-back village comprising scattered apartments and a couple of excellent tavernas right by the beach and countryside. The campsite taverna is a particular favourite with David both for the food and the friendly staff. We have been using a yoga/workshop space sheltered from the taverna by temporary screening; this is still available for morning yoga and looks directly over the sea. Best of all, new for 2012, there will be a brand new yoga space with an Iyengar style yoga wall. This will be a really lovely quiet space opening for the season. While Mithimna is a remote village it is within easy reach of town by either bus or taxi. One or two locals still bring their donkeys and goats down to pasture while they work their fields. Ten minutes walk inland is the village of Drapanias with other tavernas, two bakeries, some shops and the bus stop for Kastelli or Chania. One of the bakeries sells confectionary and ice cream and we can highly recommend it! ![]() Accommodation and new yoga space: We have chosen the best of the local studios and apartments for you with well-designed rooms, gardens and views of the sea and mountains. Our first choices are Mousses Studios, which are modern, well appointed set in a fine garden. The rooms have balconies that look towards the sea. This is where the new yoga space will be making Mithimna Beach a true yoga centre. For those who like to be right by the sea there is also Yellow Windows studios; more quirky but many people like it. We offer camping here too, since Mithimna campsite is close by – just bring a tent, contact us for a discount price. All rooms have kitchenettes, balconies and air conditioning. ![]() |
