 Come and stay in our Stafilia House in a quiet rural location on the site of a vine yard and grape treading floor, next to our house, an old olive mill. If you wish to use us as a base for exploring Crete independently you can book our Stafilia apartment or studio (these can be linked for larger parties) or we can arrange hotel/rooms accommodation for you locally in Kissamos Bay and at Astrikas. Stafilia Apartment and Studio 
This is villa style living immersed in olive groves and fruit trees on the edge of a pretty village with stunning views of mountainous gorges and
silver crags. This view stops you in your tracks and starts the process of unwinding that just seems to happen.The Apartment has a bedroom with 2 single beds, which we can convert into a king-size, a living room with sofa that easily becomes a double bed – and back again, with stowage for pillows and throws to cover bedding. The shower room is conveniently between the two rooms. Both rooms have mountain views – and a through breeze 
for naturalventilation. The kitchen is modern and very well equipped. The Studio is an easy, open plan living space, light and airy. It has 2 single beds or one king-size, plus an extra double sofa/futon bed. It has a kitchen with lots of work surfaces and utensils and also a shower room. For a large family or friends the apartment and studio can be linked together. For small children we have a cot/play pen and high chair. Young children need to be supervised in the garden and on the flat roofs. 
From your private garden you see birds of prey. At night to lie on the roof and see the stars is a joy.We live nearby in the Old Olive Mill; so, we can tell you about walks, shops or beaches. Here you can walk anywhere, people don't shoo you off land, and we have explored the area for lovely places to visit. Juliet draws a good map too! We have parking for two cars and a friend in the car hire business – it's good to use local people. If you just want to chill out and enjoy the sun we have loungers and plenty of books to choose from. Food Astrikas & Kissamos Bay  Astrikas is a unique holiday venue. It is owned by the villagers of Astrikas and was built about 15 years ago as a hotel. Their idea was to give people easy access to lovely countryside - without being far from the stunning, quiet beaches that make West Crete a delightful holiday location. Greeks use Astrikas in high season but it has not been 'discovered' by other Europeans. From May to mid October it enjoys a warm climate and is an ideal centre for walks and beach visits.It has just 12 bedrooms, double and twin bedded, ensuite with a/c control and private balconies. There's no reception staff 'on duty' so that's our job and we provide you with a service of breakfast and general guidance in the area. There's a communal kitchen for making snacks and to store food. We supply a welcome pack of speciality teas, coffee and biscuits. You have the pleasure of sitting by the pool, in the secluded garden drinking a cup of tea exactly to your liking. It's rather like staying in a villa - but without the price tag. And, we can offer you an attractive package of accommodation with a rent car, with airport pick up. This is not a holiday for everyone - if you want piped music and waitress service then this is not for you. You may be the only people staying there. Astrikas village has a bread bakery and café with excellent home cooking, by arrangement you can eat meals there. Usually you will be offered what they are cooking for themselves - good quality Greek food with vegetables grown on the field between the café and the hotel.
