If you're new to yoga all the holidays are suitable for you; Astanga yoga requires a reasonable level of fitness and agility. All walking and discovery holidays feature easy grade walks. There is the option as well of walking the Samaria Gorge – the longest gorge in Europe running out to the sea. This is a really epic walk. Meals and transfers Over the years different teachers have wanted different services to be included in their holidays – and we respond to that. The norm is to include 4 evening meals and exclude airport transfers. Where teachers prefer people to enjoy a wider range of choice of food, say more meat and fish, then we include one evening meal and airport transfers. When you click on the listing it will tell you. It is important to us that they are caring and friendly in their approach as they are so important to the focus of your holiday. Many have been with us for several years and are very experienced at delivering a wonderful time to suit all participants. Venues and Accommodation We have carefully chosen accommodation over a period of years for their friendliness and suitability for holidays so at any venue the level of retreat feeling can be your choice. We offer Yoga Holidays and Discovery Holidays at all of our venues: Peli Hotel and Mavros Molos Café both by the same beach and at Mithimna Beach and the Old Olive Mill. The former are on the edge of town and the latter have a rural setting so you can find the right setting for your holiday. At all venues the rooms are owned by families and are quite homely to reflect the simplicity of life. You won't find fancy luxury items but the rooms are all en suite, with balconies, and gardens. You can make your own hot drinks, either with communal or private facilities and all rooms have fridges. If you need a hairdryer on a daily basis, we suggest you bring your own. Wi fi or computer access is limited – we suggest you use the internet cafes in town. Food and Special Diets All the food included in the holiday is vegetarian, either home made or local specialities. Juliet is often asked for recipes! Have a look at our Recipes & Books page for our monthly recipe. Special dietsYour health is important and if you have a restricted diet you don't want it to be a cause of anxiety on holiday. So, please tell us on your booking form what you cannot eat; then we can offer alternatives. We have managed a gluten free diabetic vegan diet with the best tasting muesli ever and about the same level of variety as everyone gets. If you want, we'll give you Greek words to help you make choices in tavernas and cafes. Bring Non-Participating Friends and FamilyWe welcome friends and family wanting to holiday with you. You may wish to stay at the venue but at accommodation of your choice maybe a family room. We can help you make a suitable choice. |
